Do you ever feel like you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning - just crawl back under the covers? Do you think it is just not worth going to work to be frazzled and ineffective in performing your job because of the difficult person with whom you must work?
If you really want to reach your full potential in your career and in life, I strongly encourage you to join the Powerful Nurse Warrior Group where you can:
1. Explore the value of dissolving the bully’s control over you and your practice.
2. Satisfy the craving you have for the peace you once had while working.
3. Collaborate with other professionals to return to productive practice you once enjoyed.
We’re all in this together. Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Collaboration and success is built on respect and relationships. We have to be able to trust each other and the bullying behavior of some nurses destroys trust among us. Therefore, we cannot build relationships and this interferes with our job performance.
Most of us want to see the nursing profession rise above the immature behavior that is being exhibited by some of its members. These few nurses who, for some reason, are unable to exert self-discipline need to learn that their behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. We will take the lead and show our fellow nurses how to change their behavior and become truly respected rather than disruptive. We will show them the value of respectfulness and honoring relationships with each other through modeling this behavior to each other and to those who are unable to demonstrate it to others.
Nurses are powerful people and need to stand in their power. Nurses will find that as they stand in their power and rise to the occasion together they are able to rise higher than as individuals. There is power in numbers.
As we rise in our power we will regain our ability to work collaboratively based on our knowledge, expertise in practice and our ability to communicate. These are the attributes of nurse professionals that make possible the quality and effective care we are providing.
We cannot allow members within the profession to corrupt our profession. Bullying behavior disrupts our profession. Bullying has grown to an intensive level and continues to escalate in nursing and it is our responsibility to learn the skills necessary to communicate effectively and to grow in our practice. I want the privilege to control my own professional practice. The best defense for maintaining power and control of the profession is by effective communication. A online group such as the Powerful Nurse Warrior Group will allow nurses to communicate among themselves, build relationships and collaborate to eradicate bullying.
When we learn how to influence the behavior of members of our own profession we can begin working on others who are engaging in this same behavior, but we must start within. Nurses as a group are known for their compassion. Compassion comes from within each of us and it is vital that nurses continue to be known for their compassion and that we display the compassion toward members of our own profession.
In this group we will focus on the positive, use humor and brainstorming to develop a plan of how to approach our fellow nurses with the same compassion and forgiveness that we approach our patients.
